There may be a person or two (or three...) who may have thought this about me. Well, it is official: I really do have a screw loose. Here's the story.
About ten years ago I had a dental implant done by an outstanding dental surgeon in Florida. The process involved a bone graft, placement of a metal post into my jaw, and finally the crown was attached by a screw. The entire process took about nine months. I loved the results and have had no problems with the implant. Until now.
At my last regular dental visit, inflammation was found around the implant. I was given special cleaning instructions and a follow up appointment was set for six weeks. In spite of my strong cleaning efforts, the inflammation was still present and an appointment was made for a specialist's opinion. The specialist found that the screw that attaches the crown to the metal post has become loose and that is the source of the problem. The crown must be removed, the area cleaned out and allowed to heal, and a new screw plus crown put on.
In spite of the thought of the multiple upcoming appointments and hours in a dental chair, I can't help but chuckle at the reality that I have a screw loose.
I pulled a past photo that really expresses my heart. I know that God is working on my behalf.
